Opened in 1992, the Midvale store is the Quilted Bear's first and largest store and features the work of over 350 local and national crafters, antique distributors, and artists. The store encompasses over 40,000 square feet and also contains a unique "themed" village called Bearington Square, which features the larger shops of many of Utah's best retailers and specialty distributors. Bearington Square is laid out in a delightful Victorian Village style with 23 shops surrounding the main square.
Known for its atmosphere and seasonal decorations, in addition to the individual decorated booths of the regular craft and antique distributors, the main store contains 45 "theme booths," which have been constructed around the perimeter of the sales area. These booths convey a chosen "theme" of the crafter, representing such themes as "Country," "Western," "Early American," "South West," "Victorian," etc., etc.
This store features a restaurant called the "Hungry Bear." In the restaurant customers and crafters can obtain fresh sandwiches, cookies and a wonderful variety of salads and soups. |
