The Quilted Bear companies operate the largest
handmade craft, gift and home decor stores in the
country! Judy Dunford, founder, has been
in the craft business for over 16 years; beginning
first as an individual crafter, then becoming
successful as a "temporary" show sponsor and finally
opening her first permanent craft mall in Salt Lake
City, Utah in 1992.

Company Origins
In 1992, while operating very successful temporary craft shows, Judy
and her husband saw an opportunity to produce her shows in a permanent
store location and thus began: "The Quilted Bear Craft and
Antique Mall." This first store encompasses more than 37,000
square feet and provides space for over 600 crafters, artists, and
antique vendors. To the best of our knowledge, in terms of square
feet, number of vendors and amount of inventory and variety, this is
the largest permanent craft and gift store in America! In fact,
this first store is so successful that it has a waiting list of over
400 local crafts-people!
